Inside the Wardrobe of Maggie Pettit

Maggie Pettit is a senior at UGA, and one of my very close friends. I featured her today for her impeccable style that stands out every season of the year. Here are some photos and some tips on how to achieve her style.
The mint colored jeans are a staple in Maggie's wardrobe. "You wouldn't think so at first, but Mint Jeans Really go with Everything

Instead of pairing a romper with the typical sandals or flats, she wears boots in order to toughen up this look.

This flowy dress from Free People is another staple in the closet of Maggie Petit. It can be dressed up or down to fit any occasion.

Although winter is over, I had to feature this look. If you think winter is for dressing badly think again and take tips from this outfit. Lace jackets, graphic leggings and a bold color blouses prove that winter can be more than just bundling up in different shades of gray

*Maggie's Favorite stores consist of Urban Outfitter, Free People, Michael Kors, Zara and several local downtown Athens Botiques.

The Must Have Watch of the Season

It may be true that the classic gold and silver watches never fade out of style. But if you are looking for a fun alternative this spring look no further. The watch brand Triwa, is an acronym for "Transforming the Industry of Watches". They are a swedish brand that"adds color" to luxury watches in order to update and modernize them to fit anyones liking. The watches come in every color under the rainbow, and some you couldn't even think of. I posted a few of my favorites (can't decide which one to commit to), and the link to their website so you can see for yourself.

Happy Spring!

For some reason March never really feels like spring to me. But on the first day of April I'm convinced it's spring. No more dull dark colors, big jackets or gloves. I don't know anyone who would be upset over that.

Spring Break

The end of spring break came way too fast. I was lucky enough to relax and lay by the beach with some of my close friends in Sea Side Florida. I was also able to head to Savannah on Saint Patricks day for one of the biggest celebrations in the world! The dress code was very casual and comfortable. Here is a little recap....
Maxi Dresses Galore, my dress (left) was purchased from Forever21. The perfect item to take with you on spring break, just throw it on and you instantly have the outfit you have been searching for to go get some drinks by the beach.
I was so excited to ditch the boring blue jeans winter encroached on me and replace them with these bright yellow jeans I purchased at Delias!

This Urban Outfitters graphic romper (second of the left) was a great day to night outfit
On Saint Patricks day I wore high waisted light khaki pants with a sheer green blouse to create a uptown festive look.

My Roomate is more talented than yours

I will admit that the title is a little conceited, but when you could be possible living with the next Tibby or Chanel...I think you would say the same think. Living on the first floor, I was able to see firsthand the time and dedication my roomate, Ashley Long put into the University of Georgia's fashion week finale. Everyday she would come home for countless hours and slave over her outfits. Tailors? That's for anmatures, Ashley created each piece herself. Her collection entitled "where the wild things are" featured a plethora of fur that caught everyone's eye. Here are some pictures from the show....

Favorite Winter Outfit

It's hard enough picking an outfit to go out in at night. Picking an outfit to go out in on a cold night is even harder. This is by far my favorite winter outfit that I showcased this year. Lucky for me, Georgia doesn't get that cold, so my layers don't have to be too intense. My favorite part of this outfit is the jacket designed by Clarissa Walsh , a personal friend of mine and a rising designer in London and Dubai.

If it isn't Neon it Shouldn't be on

If it isn’t neon it shouldn’t be on
Skip the calm pastels this spring and dive into something much eye catching than an easter egg. This spring it’s all about neon, and every designer is buying into it. From Michael Kors to Forever 21, designers are jumping at designing apparel that ranges from shoes to evening dresses. If you aren’t ready to indulge yourself in full neon attire, try a bold neon accessory to make any outfit stand out. For a daytime look pair neons with neutral. However at night don’t be afraid to deck yourself out in a full neon outfit. Just make sure you do it in a tasteful manner to avoid looking like you are heading to a rave. Here are a few of my favorite picks from the neon trend

Lotusgrace Truck Show at Sonia Says in Athens

Lotusgrace is a label that was launched three years ago. Although the brand has only been around for three years, it was quickly picked up by the prestigious retailer Saks Fifth Avenue. Along with that it has been featured in Operas Favorite Things and by Woman's Wear Daily. However the brand had a recent break when three of the dresses were featured on an episode of Gossip Girl in December.  I had the pleasure of listening to the talented designer and entrepreneur, Greg Pellegrini, in my fashion merchandising class today. Along with that I attended the Trunk Show at Sonia Says Boutique and was able to try on some of the Beautiful Dresses he designed! After trying on these dresses it was safe to say that these were some of the most figure flattering dresses that I have ever tried on (in all of my worldly travels). Not only are the dresses figure flattering but the cuts and the pattern are so unique that they exploit the true luxury of these dresses. The quality of his line was superb, it was inspiring to meet such a successful designer.

In the two pictures above Maggie and I are wearing two of the colorful dresses featured on Gossip Girl. I included some pictures from the episode that display the dresses.

This last dress was my absolute favorite, it was truly a work of art. I wish I could have taken all these dresses home with me!

or head to Sonia Says boutique 798 Prince Avenue
click with caution, these dresses will make you fall in love and forget that you were ever on a budget. However if you are planning on splurging for an event or even treating yourself, these are pieces worth investing in. They are timeless, and built with the quality to last.

A Metallic Happy New Year

In The spirit of the new year I decided to share my outfit and a major trend right now of metallic colors.  The trend is said to modeled after the luxurious look of sky scrapers.

On New Years I wore a silver Calvin Klein Dress with a Bright Gold belt. Whoever stated that you can't mix gold and silver was sincerely mistaken. The Sleeves of the Dress were also bubble shaped, which was my favorite part of the dress!

A few days after New Years two of my close friends had a house warming party as they moved into Athens. I decided to carry on the Metallic Trend from New Years, but make it somewhat casual. The skirt and the shirt are from Urban Outfitters. I was drawn to this skirt because of the gold accents that made a statement in a subtle manner. One other trend that I incorporated with this outfit is the fur vest purchased from Pitya in downtown Athens.

I decided to add some other fur vests and metallic items that are currently on my wish list. Enjoy!

MICHAEL Michael Kors Sequined Tank Dress $160.00
